Parliamentary support is growing for Midaero’s ambitious AS1900 competition. Midaero’s competition offers local manufacturers the chance to win a fully supported consultancy programme. Moreover, this will help them prepare for the rigours of AS9100 certification.
The AS9100 competition is further evidence of Midaero’s commitment to offer businesses affordable access the aerospace industry. A profitable industry that already bring £79Bn in revenue to the UK economy. Over the next 12 months, Midaero has committed to assist an increasing number of manufacturers to achieve AS9100 certification. Midaero’s focus is reducing consultancy costs and showcasing the manufacturing potential within UK plc.
Midaero CEO, Doug Allen said, “It is important to engage and include small businesses in our industry. These small businesses are the lifeblood of innovation. Moreover, our industry needs new thinking and methodologies to meet the challenges of next generation aircraft.
“There are currently a myriad of opportunities within the industry. It is a great time for manufacturers of all sizes and skills to claim a stake in a relevant aerospace sector. We leverage our extensive aerospace network so our clients can act on new opportunities in aerospace, and commercial space.”
Doug travelled to Westminster to meet with Jack Dromey MP for Erdington, Birmingham, to discuss growth opportunities. There are increasing opportunities available for innovative manufacturing businesses who want to engage with the aerospace industry. Aerospace offers a real chance for these businesses to level up. It offers stable, long-term, and also highly lucrative contracts.
Mr Dromey, is a passionate supporter of local manufacturing and Co-Chair of the Manufacturing APPG. He said, ”I was pleased to learn about the work the team at Midaero are doing to remove barriers to growth and support SMEs in both manufacturing and aerospace sectors across the West Midlands. I also believe this initiative, designed by Midaero, can be a positive opportunity to increase prospects for businesses to work to the highest standards through AS9100 certification.
